One of the ways of increasing your profession skill in Dragonflight is via profession specializations, with Blizzard themselves saying that you will be able to earn specialization points through a variety of activities: Daily quests, finding them on the ground, etc.
Profession specializations will allow you to specialize in your primary crafting and gathering professions once you’ve reached a high enough skill.
