Several quality of life changes are coming to Allied Races in Patch 10.1.5: Fractures in Time! The Developer Patch Notes note that the associated race achievements are no longer required and allied races can now be unlocked by level 40 characters instead of requiring level 50.
Separately, all characters (not just allied races) will now save some gold by learning mount riding skills automatically as they level!
