Like so many other gaming communities that prioritize equal respect and rights for people regardless of their sex or gender, we’ve been shaken at Ravenholdt by recent revelations of sexual assault and gaslighting among high-profile WoW players and personalities, including people we’ve worked with in the past. Saying “this isn’t OK” is important — but it’s not enough. Unfortunately, these problems have pervaded gaming communities for far too long, and they need to stop.
We have started a fundraiser at RAINN. RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the largest anti-sexual violence and survivor support organization in the U.S. For us, this is one concrete way we can make a real difference: By putting our money where our mouths are, and urging our fellow Rogue players to do the same.
If you can afford to give, we hope you’ll donate as part of a community of Rogue players looking to take this concrete step toward change. We welcome other communities to join us in this endeavor, and stand together to make our community kinder.
