Oh, Blizzard

OH SHIT ONLY ASSASSINATION GETS POISONS brace for impact people :O
— Alt Has a Contest 😀 (@AlternativeChat) November 12, 2015
I’m going to be the only person who likes this but it looks like baseline CD reduction for combat is gone. Big change.
— Fierydemise (@Fierydemise) November 12, 2015
“Backstab- Damage increased by 30% when behind your target.” Haven’t we talked at length about why this is a really bad idea?
— Fierydemise (@Fierydemise) November 12, 2015
Thoughts on rogue class blog incoming. Note I’m reading this while on my way to work so if I miss something point it out. @WarcraftDevs

Outlaw Rogues get a Pistol Shot. All the Hunters will now be over here crying their eyes out.
— Alt Has a Contest 😀 (@AlternativeChat) November 12, 2015
After reading all the previews, the talent changes need to do work. So much of the current design hinges on talents being well designed.
— Fierydemise (@Fierydemise) November 12, 2015
It’s interesting they led with Assassination. Tradition, maybe, but Sass appears easily least affected by any changes going into Legion.
— Rfeann Beoutlawin (@SvelteKumquat) November 12, 2015
Honestly I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed by this. Nothing really groundbreaking here, wait for talents but unenthused.
— Fierydemise (@Fierydemise) November 12, 2015
The real question after all the class previews, do you trust Blizzard to get talents right? If you do then no worries, if you don’t…
— Fierydemise (@Fierydemise) November 12, 2015
I know it’s early but looking at the combat changes this is what I was worried about, mechanics are mostly the same just renamed.
— Fierydemise (@Fierydemise) November 12, 2015
Very notable omission from the subtlety section. Where is Find Weakness?
— Fierydemise (@Fierydemise) November 12, 2015
Major concern for assassination, baseline extra 3 energy per second for keeping up garrote. Likely means more spam heavy assassination.
— Fierydemise (@Fierydemise) November 12, 2015
And PvP rogues fun fucked up again. New rogue talents don’t look a blast for PvP.
— Arli (@ArliSunblade) November 12, 2015
Worried about forced positional changes on several rotational abilities, potentially problematic when dealing with raid mechanics.
— Fierydemise (@Fierydemise) November 12, 2015
Here’s hoping playing 1 spec and just changing talents is actually viable so I can just ignore the mess that is sub and same ‘ol assass.
— Ninjablaze (@Ninjablaze1) November 12, 2015
I’ve read this Outlaw stuff twice and I still have very little idea from this description how the spec will actually feel to play.
— Rfeann Beoutlawin (@SvelteKumquat) November 12, 2015
My favorite part of this preview, though? The italicized “flavor” descriptions just before the explanations. Really crystallize the intent.
— Rfeann Beoutlawin (@SvelteKumquat) November 12, 2015
If you go back to Wrath and even Cata the rogue class was defined by being resource limited, that no longer seems to be the design.
— Fierydemise (@Fierydemise) November 12, 2015
Still extremely skeptical about passive shadow dance.
— Ninjablaze (@Ninjablaze1) November 12, 2015
Just got home, time for lunch and rogue notes! Read the Assa part and quite disappointed at basically no change other that muti 2-4CP
— Rylix (@Rylix_TV) November 12, 2015
At the start of legion as assassination a rogue will have 18.3 energy/sec. For comparison in wrath AR only brought combat to ~22 energy/sec.
— Fierydemise (@Fierydemise) November 12, 2015
Whoa, hold up. Outlaw Rogues get a concealed pistol in Legion? Sorry paladin, you’re lame now. Outlaw it is.
— Alex Ziebart (@AlexZiebart) November 12, 2015
Interesting that neither sub or assassination have cooldowns listed. We know KsP is becoming a talent. Cooldowns purely from talents now?
— Fierydemise (@Fierydemise) November 12, 2015
“If blade fails to cut too deeply, the outlaw takes advantage of a concealed pistol” – now that is neat
— Rylix (@Rylix_TV) November 12, 2015
I am glad that @danielwhitcomb and I are in agreement that if Outlaw Rogues get rapiers THEN OUTLAWS WE SHALL BE.
