Where Are Zaqali Elders Located?

The world boss duo can be found in Zaralek Cavern at Zaqali Caldera. The exact location is highlighted on the map below as an Epic World Quest.

On the PTR, the world boss was gated behind the 10.1 campaign at some point, because it didn’t spawn for us even though the World Quest was available, but became visible when we played through the 10.1 campaign. The world boss duo has since despawned and isn’t available this week, so we don’t know if it will be gated behind the campaign when 10.1 ships; hopefully not!

The world boss duo is comprised of Vakan and Gholna.

Zaqali Elders Encounter Journal

Vakan and Gholna, powerful djaradin elders, are each a master over their respective element. Gholna with lava and Vakan with shadowflame, they are locked in constant conflict over who is stronger. Through devastation and chaos, each elder attempts to outdo the other until one of them is crowned victor.

Overview

Vakan and Gholna each use their abilities in a contest to see who can defeat their enemies fastest Vakan hurls Enveloping Darkness at random destinations that summons a Blistering Cyclone. Gholna creates Lava Geyser at random destinations that erupt and continually inflict fire damage to players. At full energy, Vakan unleashes Scorching Eclipse while Gholna casts Incineration.

Gholna’s Burning Strike applies a stack of Searing Touch.

Vakan’s Umbral Smash applies a stack of Burning Shadows.

While Gholna and Vakan are close together, they gain Empowered Rivalry.

Avoid Gholna’s Incineration.

Avoid Vakan’s Scorching Eclipse.

Healers
