It seems today’s change from the April to the May Trading Post item list had a bit of a hiccup, as certain items were added that were both not planned for this month’s offerings and were not even ready to be added to the game at all! Many players noticed the very strange “of the Guardian” cloak, helm and staff set which was not mentioned anywhere in the official May Trading Post items article, and they also didn’t quite… look right:


Someone at Blizzard added the wrong items to the Trading Post of the month. I’m not gonna complain, I always wanted to have cubes for head and fists and a lovely green-screen cloak !

It turns out the items were supposed to be Medivh-themed but definitely weren’t intended for this month’s Trading Post, and Blizzard quickly removed them, having to take the Trading Post offline for a while. A few players even managed to keep their bugged set after purchasing it, but it remains to be seen if it will be removed or if they’ll actually get to keep it and then get the real versions once they’re added to the game.

This did give us a nice heads up about what will be coming in one of the future months, and the staff in particular will be well worth getting. You can take a look at the un-bugged set over on Wowhead, as they datamined it a few months ago, but it wasn’t clear where the set would come from back then.
