According to multiple datamined spell and item entries, we’ll be returning to Scarlet Monastery for an unknown reason and a boss fight in Patch 10.1.7.
The Scarlet Key is an item added in the latest 10.1.7 PTR build.
The Scarlet Key is a new spell linked to the above item. The tooltip says: Retrace the steps of those who came before.
Scarlet Monastery of Old – Grants access to Scarlet Monastery of Old for all characters on your account.
The encounter database table has been updated with the following entry: Bloodmage Thalnos.
On top of that, the Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade icon has been changed to an encrypted File ID. Courtesy of keyboardturn.
Blizzard probably won’t test this on the 10.1.7 PTR, so we’ll need to wait until the patch releases on live servers to find out what’s in store for Scarlet Monastery.
