And it’s done! Raszageth has fallen on Mythic difficulty as Echo takes her down after a very tumultuous progress period, with several nerf rounds (including one at the very end). After a grueling 263 pulls they manage to pull it off and get through all three phases of the boss, despite it looking pretty impossible back in the phase 1 intermission.. and in the phase 2 intermission… and so on, before the holiday-motivated modifications by Blizzard. A third Race to World First win in a row for the guild, after the Sanctum of Domination and Sepulcher of the First ones wins.
After 3 massive nerfs waves, and the 4th just before the kill, each taking a major chunk out of some part of the fight or another, the boss fell over and Echo got their World First.
Here’s the full kill try:

And the raid composition:
It seems there was a last minute nerf involved as well, as Blizzard decided to significantly tune the boss one last time. This hasn’t been 100% confirmed by Blizzard, but many experts watching the race think so, including Liquid’s GM Max, and Echo’s own Naowh:
Also not a big fan of these nerfs, esp before Liquid woke up. Even tho we were “ahead” it felt unfair and I would be a bit tilted if it was reversed.
Also as always, only love and no hate in either direction.
GGs and thanks for the race @LiquidGuild

And there’s this datamining snippet as well:
Keep in mind the times on https://t.co/VUD14mqSB4 are not when the hotfix was pushed but when it was first seen by someone uploading caches. They were active for the kill (Echo said this themselves).
Max posted the notes (which I assume are from Blizz) for the nerfs in his chat: pic.twitter.com/tLDMSwYcuC

From Raider.Io’s coverage:
We have now heard from multiple sources, including Maximum from Liquid, that there have indeed been some hotfixes that reduced the difficulty of P3 and allows guilds to continue the fight quite a bit longer than in earlier attempts.
The specifics, as far as we can tell and were told, are as follows:
Slightly adjusted the timing of events at the start of Phase 3
Reduced the rate at which motes of Storm-Energy are spawned
Slowed the rate that the Raging Storm closes in
While no official bluepost confirms these changes yet, datamining hotfix files that were pushed somewhere around 20-30 minutes ago confirm these changes as well.
Comparing individual pulls from earlier in the day, and the kill, it seems fairly clear that these changes happened sometime prior to the RWF kill from Echo.
This doesn’t tarnish their achievement whatsoever, as they have shown an incredible performance throughout the tier, pulling off unthinkable plays and getting the boss down to 8.34% in less than 250 pulls already.
The nerf did arrive while Liquid were still not back for their raid day, however, Echo were in the lead by a significant margin before it as well (not to mention the kill pull was extremely clean and a great one in general, regardless of the nerfs), having gotten the boss down to 8%, compared to Liquid’s 14%.
