Normally getting stuck in a dress is a very real-life thing to happen, but now we have it in WoW as well, as there seems to be an epidemic of players getting stuck in dress transmog effects!

The Experimental Anima Cell has been causing quite a bit of havoc for a while now, trapping players that pick the dress option, as Skeeter1771 recently found out – and there’s no regular way out of it either!

And then, as if straight out of a rom-com, a different player talked about having a similar issue, but from the opposite point of view, as they wanted to keep their tuxedo effect from the toy longer, even after keeping it for 3 days – and so the perfect match was born!

This happened to me too but with the tuxedo version instead of the dress. I actually liked it and wished it stayed on but it went away somehow after being bugged for like 3+ days. Looks like we had opposite problems lol, you can’t get rid of it! – Foobis25

Quite a few players chimed in with the same situation, with some even taking months to get rid of it! This particular bug has been around for a long time actually, pretty much since the toy was introduced, so there’s plenty of stories.  However, there does seem to be a few potential solutions, if you really don’t want to look fabulous ALL the time. Some were helpful and others… less so.

My Death Knight was like this for a while lol. I don’t know why or what caused it, trying transmog and other stuff. After a couple of months it just disappeared – Schnoor

Have you tried getting someone to help unzip you at the back? – birdsmell

Try queuing for an arena skirmish. I had a similar issue with a SL horn on my back. Wouldn’t go away. This fixed it – Maxmoose3

Did you try changing transmog (even if it shows that nothing changed at first) and then relogging? This works for me – lagertha1203

Oh, it happened to me as well with my Dracthyr. I solved by using the “I’m stuck” option! Don’t know why, but it did work out. – LouDogGT

Use the anima cell toy again, and pick the dress option, had the same issue on my rogue. The second time I let the buff expire naturally and it removed the issue. – Fregion

This happened to me once as well. Something you have equipped can’t be transmogged anymore and it prevents your entire outfit from changing or being transmogged. Remove each piece of gear til you find the culprit. – callmekizzle

In the end the original poster accepted their fate and their true dress-nature, after another player pointed out the simplest solution.

Stop fighting your true nature.

Embrace who you really are and start enjoying life. – GunKata187

– That’s a good point. Disregard my post. I am home. – Skeeter1771

Whether Skeeter1771 used one of the offered solutions and eventually got out of the dress, or did, in fact, make peace with their new dress-only character is unclear, but we wish them the best either way!
