Here’s some more good news for patch 10.1.5, as we may be getting a version of the very much classic (in all senses of the word) Scholomance dungeon back! And it’s not just that, but it also could be related to the return of some more Vanilla stuff with it, in the form of Naxxramas transmog items and perhaps even the vaunted Corrupted Ashbringer!

The return of Vanilla Scholomance is directly linked to the return of previously removed transmog items from Naxxramas

Will investigate more tomorrow on stream, but I’d imagine it’s partially encrypted like the Zul’Gurub items in 10.0.7 https://t.co/asSxdQrMgS pic.twitter.com/jcnU2zkptn

While it’s not quite certain how all this will work, the transmog appearances should include everything from old Naxxramas aside from the tier sets (although those might also be coming back) and would drop in a similar way to the recent Zul’Gurub cosmetics. How exactly Scholomance figures into this is unclear, but it could be where the pre-quest to unlock all this potential Naxx gear could happen, as a lot of it will be coming from the still present WotLK version of the raid. There’s also an achievement related to the dungeon, Memory of Scholomance coming with the patch.

MrGM explains it all and gives a preview of what may be coming in the video below, including a new old mount, a new toy and plenty more:

We also recently covered the fact that the Corrupted Ashbringer quest may be related to a feat of strength from the original Naxxramas, so only players that got some loot from it would have access, but that’s not quite certain yet (although I sure do hope so, as I never got mine to drop).

The return of Scholomance makes sense with the theme of patch 10.1.5: Fractures in Time, so it does seem very likely we’ll be getting some form of the dungeon where might be able to receive revamped Naxxramas gear, so let’s hope it’s true!
