Patch 10.1 has increased the gear trading time limit to 4 hours from 2. However, the timer will now continue counting down even while you’re offline.
Embers of Neltharion brings a quality-of-life change to gear trading. Players will now be able to trade gear with players that were eligible to loot an item four hours after obtaining it. However, the timer will continue counting down whilst offline.
The change has been revealed in the following global string:
BIND_TRADE_TIME_REMAINING – You may trade this item with players that were also eligible to loot this item for the next %s (including time offline).
Previously, you had a two-hour window for gear trading, but the timer wouldn’t continue counting down while offline.
