Final Fantasy 16 will have a Day One patch to fix text errors, optimize performance, and prevent crashes. The patch will be included in the pre-download, and offline gameplay is available.
Naoki Yoshida, the producer of FFXVI, recently appeared in a YouTube stream on the game’s channel, and confirmed that there will be a Day One patch for the game upon its launch.
Yoshida and the development team expressed their apologies for the need for a day one patch but assured players that it would not be necessary to download the patch in order to play the game on release. The patch will be incorporated directly into the pre-download of the digital version of the game. Furthermore, Final Fantasy 16 will allow offline gameplay, eliminating the requirement for an internet connection.
The day one patch will be relatively small, only 300Mb in size, and will primarily focus on fixing a few text errors, optimizing the game’s performance, and addressing certain bugs that caused players to experience crashes at specific points.
Final Fantasy 16 is scheduled for release in just a few hours, on June 22nd exclusively for PlayStation 5.
