Final Fantasy XIV is getting a major update with patch 6.5, which brings new quests, dungeons, trials, raids, and more. Here is everything you need to know!
Growing Light’s complete 6.5 patch notes are available now, so let’s go over everything you need to know about it! Follow the Warrior of Light’s path as they cross rifts once more, in order to find resplendent Light.
But first, please note that in order to access a majority of 6.5 content, access to the Endwalker Expansion, as well as being up-to-date in the Main Story Quest, is required.
Secondly, from this patch on, the Final Fantasy XIV: Starter Edition will include the 2nd expansion pack, Stormblood. In addition, players who have already registered A Realm Reborn and Heavensward to their service accounts, will automatically be granted access to Stormblood.
Here are some of the key features that will be included in 6.5:
Playable Content:
New Main Scenario Quests:
Seeking the Light – Radz-at-Han (x: 4.4, y: 9.8), Varshahn. Players must have completed the quest called “The Dark Throne” in order to access the new quest.
Chronicle of a New Era quests:
Myth of the Realm: The Heart of the Myth – Mor Dhona ( x:23.4, y:9.1), Deryk. Players must first complete the Chronicles of a New Era quest called “The Secret of the Twelve”.
New Side Story Quest:
Wings of Hope: A Request of One’s Own – Old Sharlayan (x:11.5, y:10.3), Singingway; players must have completed the Trial “Abyssal Fracture” and have obtained all Lynx mounts from the Endwalker Extreme Trials, in order to have access to this Quest.
New chapters added to New Game+:
Chronicle of a New Era Quests: Myth of the Realm.
Side Story Quest: The Legacy of Louisoix Leveilleur.
Battle System:
Actions and traits adjusted for the following Jobs:
Gladiator/ Paladin
Reaper
Bard
Red Mage
Adjustments to some action descriptions (but the effects have not been changed)
New Dungeon: The Lunar Subterrane.
New Trial: The Abyssal Fracture and Abyssal Fracture Extreme ( the totems can be exchanged in Radz-at-Han with Nesvaaz).
Addition of The Singularity Reactor (Unreal Trial). This requires players to complete the quest Fantastic Mr.Faux first.
Drop rates for Lynx of Righteous Fire Flute and Lynx of Fallen Shadow Flute have been increased.
Weekly restriction rewards in Pandaemonium: Anabaseios has been removed.
Alliance Raid dungeon Thaleia: requires to complete the quest The Heart of The Myth in Mor Dhona first.
Alliance Raids Rewards have been Adjusted.
Adjustments have been made to Duty Roulette.
PvP: Adjustments to PvP profiles have been made. Series 4 is ending and Series 5 will begin. Crystalline Conflict adjustments have also been made.
Miscellaneous:
Character Portraits: Those have been implemented for battle dialogue during MSQ instanced quest battles from the first quest of patch 2.0 through the quest “The Company You Keep”.
Fates: New items are available from certain gemstone traders.
Treasure Hunt: Adjusted rewards for Kumbhiraskin and Ophiotauroskin Treasure Maps, as well as for the Excitatron 6000 and the Shifting Gymnasion Agonon.
Adjustments to Grand and Free Companies.
Housing: Furnishing design contest items have been added, as well as other new furnishings. Additionally, new orchestrion rolls, aquarium fish and seeds have been added.
Gold Saucer: New triple triad cards are now available, as well as new NPC opponents.
Island Sanctuary: Addition of the Felicitous Favors. These are new tasks that players can complete in order to get unique rewards. They can be found at the Felicitous Furball. Note that the Felicitous Favors are offered on a seasonal basis.
Other Island Sanctuary features have been adjusted such as the maximum sanctuary rank, new visions and items, as well as a new gathering area, and much more.
New Hairstyle options for Viera and Hrothgar.
Adjustments to the Wondrous Tails.
New trails for Faux Hollows as well as new items to exchange for faux leaves.
New Emotes, Items, Recipes, Mounts, Bardings, Minions, Fashion Accessories.
Armoire and Glamour dresser Adjustments
Crafting Log Adjustments
Crafted item level 640 equipment can now be exchanged for upgraded item level 650 equipment in Radz-at-Han (x:10.8, y:9.9) at Rashti. Players will need Hannish Certificate of Grade 3 import and Divine Rain in order to make the exchange.
Margrat Custom Deliveries: players need to first complete the quest A Request of One’s Own.
Xbox Series X/S Controller Gamepad Settings have been added
Additionally, system changes have been implemented, as well as changes to achievements and adventurer plates. The free trial will now include Stormblood, access to the Samurai and Red Mage Jobs, and level 70 cap. And last but not least, many in-game issues have been resolved as well.
