While we’re not even in patch 10.0.7 yet and only got the PTR for 10.1 last week, we might have gotten a huge clue or even direct leak for the theme or zone of patch 10.2! Spoilers below.
As spotted by Portergauge in the game files, there is an item icon marked as “Emerald Dream Outdoor”, which is the same naming convention as the patch 10.1 outdoor gear we’re seeing on the PTR now:
The vagueness of the naming convention doesn’t mean this is 100%the literal Emerald Dream as a zone, it could be just the aesthetic name.
But it DEFINITELY seems like the World Tree is going to be the focus for 10.2 if this is indeed an accidental early icon.

This would actually make a lot of sense as there has been plenty of focus on the new World Tree storyline recently, and going from a dark earthy underground cavern to a lush green open (dream) space would add a lot of visual diversity from patch to patch. The Emerald Dream itself has been waiting for a proper zone/raid/major segment of the game since Vanilla, where it was planned to be a zone you went to after you died. Now, of course, this may just be part of some smaller visit via a questline, something like the Azmerloth Murloc questline, but even that would be great. It might also be nothing, or something for an even later patch (although we don’t even known how many major patches Dragonflight will have).
We’ve seen a fair amount from the Emerald Dream throughout the years, from the Emerald Nightmare raid, to the Druid class hall and more, but seeing it as a major zone with everything that entails would be really great, and a perfect fit for Dragonflight.
