The Retribution rework worked really well for the Paladins – a little too well it seems (at least according to Blizzard). As the multiple nerfs came in over the past week, the pink spec started falling, but it’s still around the top, especially in the slower-moving generalist bracket. We’re taking a look at the usual Mythic and Heroic overall DPS, as well as the boss-only damage, skipping Normal this time around, so let’s get to it!
Mythic
Overall Damage 95th Percentile
Retribution had its time at the top in the top percentiles, and it seems that time was literally 1 week, as it has fallen down to third after the nerfs. Frost DK has once again proven to be very resilient, even after its own nerf a while ago, still standing in 2nd, but we actually have another Warlock spec at the top, as Demonology takes over! Affliction may have dropped off a huge amount since the patch launch and the bugs helping it out, but it’s still a very Warlock-y top of the charts, as Destruction is also very stable in 4th. While Subtletly rises one it’s actually Arms right behind it that’s the big mover in the top, gaining 4 spots from its 10th position last week. Devastation is somewhat recovering from its big drop with the patch launch, as it takes down Marksmanship for 7th, while the previous king Shadow is on an opposite trajectory, losing 4 spots down into 9th. Havoc closes out the top 10 while the bottom 3 remain mostly the same, with Unholy getting some buffs this week – so we may be seeing it move out of there soon.

Overall Damage All Percentiles
The slower-moving generalist bracket has been… moving slower, as not much has changed and the Retribution nerfs haven’t taken effect. Subtlety and Demonology are still 2nd and 3rd, but we do see Arms’ rise here very clearly as well, gaining 3 spots and landing in 4th. Havoc is the other big mover, gaining two and landing right behind Marksmanship in 6th, pushing Outlaw out of the way. Shadow is down in this bracket as well, only two spots though, and it seems Frost DK requires very high levels of play, finding itself at the bottom of the top 10 here as opposed to its position in the top percentiles.

Boss Only Damage All Percentiles
It’s a very Hunter-Warlock top in the direct damage chart, as Survival takes over at the top, with Affliction very close behind looking to take back its throne. Speaking of Warlocks, we see the opposite of the overall damage charts here as Demonology is the odd-one out here, landing in the middle of the pack as Destruction and Affliction fight Survival and Beast Mastery for the top spots. Assassination remains solid as it drops one spot, just ahead of the double duo of Death Knights and Mages, with Retribution closing out the top 10 behind them.

Heroic Overall DPS
The Heroic chart has us seeing a long-lost spec near the top, with Arcane popping up into 2nd, while Assassination dethrones Affliction, and Retribution only drops 1 spot into 4th. The Death Knights retain their switcheroo compared to the higher difficulty, as Unholy is in the top and Frost very much at the bottom, joined by Elemental and Devastation.
