After last week’s Early Access beta we wanted to round up some of the useful tips that came up during play, from certain features of the game you might miss, to how certain mechanics work etc. Most of these come from the Diablo 4 community or are just things I noticed myself, so let’s get started.
There will be queues at the very least on day 1, so log in earlier than you actually plan on playing.
You can immediately exit a dungeon by using the “Leave Dungeon” option on the emote/action wheel (bound to “E” by default). You can also click on the exit icon on the map to do the same thing.
If you don’t pick up a legendary item, it will be sent to your stash so maybe check in on the stash every once in a while (especially at max level).
You can right click anywhere on the map and it will create a waypoint for you which you can follow on the minimap.
The Butcher boss randomly spawns in dungeons (and reportedly in cellars as well, but that’s unconfirmed) and will leave either after he kills you or after a while fighting you. He can also drop the only Unique quality item in the beta.
You can move the UI to the left of the screen in the Gameplay options menu.
Don’t forget to turn on the Advanced Tooltip Compare and Advanced Tooltip Information in the Gameplay section of the options if you want to more easily compare stats on your items.
You can craft XP boosting elixirs (5%) in town at the alchemist.
You can use emotes on some of the shrines in the open world to get a buff. Which emote to use will be hinted at by a sign next to the shrine.
You can download new Nvidia drivers for the beta that came out very recently.
Once you get one character to level 20, you will get the Wolf Pup cosmetic unlocked for the full game release.
You can find maps for the Legendary Aspects here and the Altars of Lilith here.
You can check out the official FAQ/Beta guide article here, which includes the official start times (you can already pre-download it here).
You can also check out our leveling builds here, with the Necromancer and Druid coming soon as well. And finally, let’s have another look at the game’s intro cinematic, “By Three They Come”:
