The inaugural day of the raid has ended as the predominantly US day brought us 3 kills, as the EU guilds woke up early to be ready for the reset… which came a full hour later for the raid. Let’s take a look at everything that happened today.
It’s been quite a long day as US maintenance ended an hour early and the guilds all rushed into the raid… just not on Mythic, as the new normal of all three difficulties launching at the same time means all the top guilds will be doing split raids for the next few days. We did have one brave guild venture into Aberrus on the maximum difficulty, as The Early Shift very much proved their name to be accurate and relevant, since they were the only ones progressing in Mythic for quite a while. That early bird gets the worm attitude did end up getting them a World First, as Kazzara the Hellforged fell. After a few pulls on the next boss The Early Shift decided it wasn’t early anymore and called it a day, but luckily we soon saw another guild enter Mythic.
Nerd Crew came in from their Heroic splits with a little bit of extra gear and easily dispatched Kazzara, opting to go for the Assault of the Zaqali next. It only took them 5 pulls to get the encounter down, showing off what even a little bit of extra gear can do.
Nerd Crew weren’t even close to done, however, as they immediately pushed on to the Amalgamation Chamber, which did prove more challenging for them, to the tune of 3 extra pulls needed!
Here’s their raid composition for the boss:
They spent the rest of their evening progressing on The Forgotten Experiments, with a very swift move down to under 20%, but after that the progress stalled and that’s where they left the boss at when they stopped raiding for the day, 16 pulls in.
There were other Mythic kills during the day as well, with a total of 7 guilds getting the first boss down, but only Poptart Corndog managed to get more than one boss down, as they grabbed the World 2nd on the Zaqali Assault.
This brought us to EU start times, as the top guilds woke up very early, around 5 AM to be ready for the reset at 6. And while the reset and maintenance did indeed conclude on time, it seems someone forgot to turn on the actual raid, as while everything else was updated to Season 2, Aberrus was not quite ready for it’s European guests.
6:52 raid still closed ?

It took around an hour and 10 minutes to sort things out and for the raid to open, and now it’s available to everyone. There should be plenty of guild s catching up to at least that 3/9 mark today and probably going past it, but how far in is the real question. There has been some speculation that the very top guilds won’t be heading into Mythic until the weekend, so a lot of the remaining World Firsts may just be up for grabs!
